Inktober wrap up...

We are in the middle of the month so I thought it would be a good time to post the drawings that I've done till today and see how the story is growing...

DAY 1 - The protagonist, our traveller

DAY 2 - The adventure starts!

DAY 3 - "The wind is too strong..."

DAY 4 -  "This looks like a good place to rest and spend the night"

DAY 5 - "In the middle of the night a strong noise wakes him up.... Be quiet he tells to himself"

DAY 6 - "This is really weird... Just wait and be quiet, don't move till they leave..."

DAY 7 - "It has to be here somewhere..."

DAY 8 - "What is this place?"

DAY 9 - "This could just be some kind of storage chambers for the people who live in the mountains..."

DAY 11 - "OMG! What kind of creatures are you?? Stop licking me!!"

DAY 12 - "Ok, ok... Don't push, I'm coming with you...."

DAY 13 - "Thank the Gods there's a light here..."

DAY 14 - "Look at that, they are just babies... But, what is this place?"

DAY 15 - "WOW! This is amazing... Who lives here???"

5 Fandom Friday: Things I Love About Halloween

I have to say that I didn't know if participate or not in this week #5FF because we don't celebrate Halloween in Spain, we have the day of the dead and we eat chestnuts and sweet potatoes but nothing like Halloween. But here is my list of things I love about Halloween:

Fandom Friday: 5 Favorite Fictional Teachers

This is the first time I participate in the #5FF, I am a bit late for my country but it is still Friday in the half of the world so I guess I can still do it...

Here are my 5 Favorite Fictional Teachers:

Things I Love Thursdays

Things I Love Thursdays hosted by and

Ok... I became aware of "Things I Love Thursdays" a couple of weeks ago through the Geek Girls x Bloggers Fb group and as I see that it is a quite lovely thing, I've decided de jump in.

I have to say that Thursday has always been my favorite day, because it is blue, round and very nice, synesthetes will understand, for the ones that don't know what synesthesia is, here is a link: Neuroscience for Kids (This is not a great page but I find that they explain it very well).

Ok, so today is my favorite day and I find that writing about things I love is a good way to honor it.

And as much as Mandy Loves Supernatural, I love watching youtube videos about speed paintings... other things I love:

I love how she uses the colors and all the curvy girls that she draws

Pascal Campion
I love how he uses the colors and simple shapes to build amazing paintings every day.

The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro
Yes... it's about paintings...

On March 18, 1990, thirteen works of art today worth over $500 million were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. It remains the largest unsolved art heist in history, and Claire Roth, a struggling young artist, is about to discover that there’s more to this crime than meets the eye.

Making a living reproducing famous artworks for a popular online retailer and desperate to improve her situation, Claire is lured into a Faustian bargain with Aiden Markel, a powerful gallery owner. She agrees to forge a painting—a Degas masterpiece stolen from the Gardner Museum—in exchange for a one-woman show in his renowned gallery. But when that very same long-missing Degas painting is delivered to Claire’s studio, she begins to suspect that it may itself be a forgery.

Her desperate search for the truth leads Claire into a labyrinth of deceit where secrets hidden since the late nineteenth century may be the only evidence that can now save her life.

Mr. Penumbra's 24h-Open Bookstore by Robin Sloan
About books and geeks, pretty funny :D

The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon away from life as a San Francisco web-design drone and into the aisles of Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after a few days on the job, Clay discovers that the store is more curious than either its name or its gnomic owner might suggest. The bookstore’s secrets extend far beyond its walls.

I used to make a lot of them but I don't have time lately. Let me introduce you to the LOKIGURUMI! Hehehe

Screen printing
I love making my own tees. These are the next ones, Star Wars and Alice in Wonderland:

Hope you like some of the things I love and I'll be posting more next Thursday!

31 DAYS 31 DRAWINGS: Do you know #Inktober ?

31 Days 31 Drawings

Every October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. I created InkTober in 2009 as a challenge to improve my inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

Anyone can do InkTober, just pick up a pen and start drawing.

InkTober rules:

1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).

2) Post it on your blog (or tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)

3) Hashtag it with #inktober

4) Repeat
Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.
That's it! Now go make something beautiful.
This year I've decided to participate. I've been working a lot trying to improve my digital illustration and it's a nice way to make a traditional illustration everyday. I use a small sketch book and a SAKURA 005 along with some COPIC markers. Let's see what happens! My intention is to build a story but as this is the first time I do something like this, I don't know if it will come to a good end, at least we can laugh about it...
This is the sketch book, I share it because I love this brand because the paper is recycled, it has 30% cotton and it's soft and you can use copics or watercolor without worrying about the next page.

As I don't want to spam the blog with all the drawings, I'll be sharing them once a week. Every 7 days. If you want to see the daily drawings you can find them in my Instagram, user: cuquetafera. Or Facebook page.
